Swiss Remit is a financial services company based in Europe (Switzerland), specializing in international money transfers. The client sought to create a white-label solution for money transfer services tailored to the European market, similar to Western Union, leveraging their existing expertise.
About the Client:
The project involved designing and developing a comprehensive money transfer system that would comply with European regulations. The goal was to create a robust, scalable service that could be packaged and sold as a standalone product. This would allow users to transfer money quickly and securely, while enabling the client to efficiently manage resources and cut development costs. A team of 9 IT specialists was involved in the implementation of the project.
Project Overview:
The primary tasks for this project included:
  • Business analysis: Conducting an in-depth analysis of European financial regulations and compliance requirements to ensure the product would meet all legal standards.
  • Developing a money transfer service: Creating a white-label solution for European markets, allowing users to transfer funds between individuals across borders securely and efficiently.
  • Resource optimization: Reusing part of the client's existing microservices infrastructure to ensure faster processing times and lower operational costs. The new system needed to offer improved performance, with a focus on scalability and speed.
Challenges & Objectives
Implementation:
The following technologies and processes were used to implement the solution:
01
Backend: Golang
Chosen for its high-performance capabilities, Golang was used to build the backend services that manage transaction processing, ensuring fast and secure handling of transfers.
02
Frontend: React
A responsive and intuitive user interface was built using React, providing users with an easy-to-navigate platform for initiating and managing money transfers.
03
Business analysis
A thorough business analysis was conducted to map out the regulatory landscape in Europe, ensuring that the service met all compliance standards.
04
Microservices architecture
The client’s existing microservices were integrated into the system, allowing for faster development cycles, better resource management, and the reuse of proven components.
05
Scalability and performance testing
Load testing was conducted to measure transaction speeds and resource efficiency, showing that the new system processed transactions 10 times faster than other solutions, and optimized resource use significantly.
The release of the product took 6 months
  • Ready-to-use payment service for Europe: A fully functional money transfer service was developed, compliant with European regulations, and packaged as a white-label solution.
  • Improved performance: The solution processed transactions over 10 times faster than traditional systems, thanks to optimized microservices architecture.
  • Cost efficiency: By reusing existing microservices, Swiss Remit was able to reduce development costs while still delivering a high-performance system.
  • Scalability and resource management: The system was designed for scalability, allowing for seamless growth as the business expands across European markets, while optimizing the use of server resources.
This project enabled Swiss Remit to launch a highly competitive money transfer service in Europe, improving their operational efficiency, cutting costs, and delivering a top-tier product to the market.
